Sunday, September 8, 2024 Delta Air Lines is gearing up for the holiday season by boosting capacity between Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) and San Diego International Airport (SAN). Starting November 10, the airline will reintroduce its Boeing 767-300ER on this route, offering additional seating capacity through March of next year. This marks the first time in two years that Delta will operate widebody aircraft between Atlanta and San Diego, increasing seating capacity by over 20 seats compared to the narrowbody planes currently serving the route.

According to aviation analytics provider Cirium, Delta will operate daily flights with the 767-300ER until December 3, when the aircraft will be temporarily replaced. Westbound flight DL447 is scheduled to depart Atlanta at 16:35, landing in San Diego at 18:15. The eastbound flight DL762 will leave San Diego at 07:20, arriving back in Atlanta at 14:30.

This seasonal adjustment reflects Delta’s commitment to meeting increased demand during the busy holiday travel period.
