Delhi's iconic Khan Market has once again secured its place among the world's premier retail destinations, ranking as the 22nd most expensive retail-high street globally, according to Cushman & Wakefield's latest Main Streets Across the World report. With annual rents soaring to USD 229 per square foot (~Rs 19,330), Khan Market not only maintains its position as India's priciest high street but also continues to see a notable 7 per cent year-on-year rental growth, reinforcing its appeal to premium retailers and shoppers alike. In its 34th edition, the report highlights headline rents across 138 premium urban retail locations worldwide, many of which are associated with the luxury sector.
Using Cushman & Wakefield’s proprietary data, the global index ranks the priciest retail destinations in each market. Delhi-NCR now hosts three most expensive retail high streets in India. Khan Market, Connaught Place in Delhi, and Galleria Market in Gurgaon are all ranked among the top retail destinations in the Asia-Pacific region.
Annual rental rates in these areas are steep, with Connaught Place at USD 158 (Rs 13,335) per square foot and Galleria Market at USD 156 (Rs 13,166) per square foot. According to the report, Bengaluru’s Indiranagar experienced the highest rental growth in the Asia-Pacific region, while Anna Nagar in Chennai emerged as the most affordable rental market in the region. “Khan Market's position among the world's top retail destinations underscores the resilience.
