Prayagraj: Medicines made from herbs have the potential to cure even chronic diseases. However, due to widespread deforestation across the globe, these life-protecting herbs are in danger. This situation is also affecting research programmes of scientists who conduct research in medicinal herbs , opines Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Head of Pharmacy Services, UCSI Hospital , Malaysia, Prof Mogana S Rajagopal.
She shared these views while delivering her lecture on concluding day of two-day international conference on ‘Innovation In Pharmaceutical Sciences: Bridging Biotechnology And Clinical Practice' 2024, organised by United Institute of Pharmacy (UIP), Naini. Regarding the role of pharmacists, she said that healthcare professionals like pharmacists have a very important role to play in curing patients. Therefore, it is necessary for them to enhance their knowledge, she added.
