Don Warrington doesn't know why Death in Paradise is a success Death In Paradise star Don Warrington has a couple of projects in the pipeline that have nothing to do with the hit BBC crime comedy-drama. Commissioner Selwyn Patterson (played by Don Warrington) is a staple of the Death In Paradise universe, having starred in the show from the very beginning. But this hasn’t stopped the 73-year-old from changing it up from time to time with not one but two shorts due to come out that will star Warrington.

The first of which is called Grandfather where he plays an elderly gentleman called Roger Compton who gets a visit from social services. They tell him that his estranged son and daughter-in-law died in a car accident and he has a granddaughter that he’s never met. Death In Paradise’s Don Warrington works on new projects away from Commissioner role.
