Deadpool & Wolverine's Ryan Reynolds has discussed having paid tribute to his pal Rob Delaney 's late son Henry in the film, admitting he felt he should have done it sooner. The new film stars Ryan, 47, and Hugh Jackman , 55, as Deadpool , also known as Wade Wilson, and Wolverine respectively. The cast also includes the likes of Rob, 47, who reprised his role as Peter, who is a friend of Wade in the franchise.

Rob had previously played the character in Deadpool 2, which was released in 2018. That film was released just months after the actor's late son Henry had died, aged two , after having been diagnosed with brain cancer two years prior. His pal Ryan, who co-wrote and co-produced Deadpool & Wolverine, took to Instagram on Monday to share details about having paid tribute to Henry in the film.

He also took the opportunity to praise Rob in the recent post. Alongside photos of Rob, Ryan told his followers: "There's more to [Rob] than some realize. He's one of the most subversively funny people I know.

He's a beautiful, acerbic and vulnerable writer. If you stayed through the credits of Deadpool & Wolverine, you might notice a credit saying, 'For Henry Delaney'. Henry was Rob's son.

And Rob lost his little boy to a brain tumor in 2018. Right as we finished Deadpool 2." Ryan went on to suggest that he had regretted not paying tribute at the end of the previous film.

He said in the recent post: "I've always kicked my own a** because I didn't place a tribute to Henry over the end.
