Terrified residents are calling for police intervention following the discovery of hundreds of large nails scattered across a beach access road. As well as the nails, steel bolts and even small saw blades were found positioned on a track that leads towards an Anglesey beach - a pathway frequently used by vehicles. Locals dubbed this week's incident a "disgusting act of vandalism", claiming it not only poses a threat to drivers but potentially horse riders and other users too.

It is the latest in a string of similar attacks over the last two years. The metal debris was discovered on a narrow lane leading to Traeth Penial beach. This quiet, secluded stretch of stone and sand provides no facilities and is hidden away in north Anglesey.

Boasting views over Beddmanarch Bay to Holyhead, it tends to be frequented by locals rather than tourists who generally opt for nearby Porth Tywyn Mawr (Sandy Beach).
