DALLAS, Texas — A suspect was shot by police after ramming two squad cars with a stolen vehicle on July 25, 2024, according to the Dallas Police Department. At approximately 1:20 p.m.

, undercover officers in the 9600 block of Golf Lakes Trail received a Flock camera alert for a stolen vehicle. Covert officers located the vehicle inside an apartment complex and called for uniformed officers. When the driver saw the squad car, he accelerated and rammed two marked squad cars, prompting uniformed officers to fire.

One male suspect was shot and taken to a local hospital, where he is expected to survive. No officers were injured. Two other suspects were taken into custody at the scene.

One suffered injuries and was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. A fourth suspect fled the scene and remains at large. The preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects were armed, and three weapons were recovered at the scene.

One suspect in custody was wanted on an active Dallas murder warrant. The Dallas County District Attorney’s Office and the Office of Community Police Oversight have been notified. The investigation is ongoing.
