A wealthy father is locked in a dispute over his plans to build a "bonkers" £1.6m row of four luxury homes for his three daughters, who claim they can't afford to move out. Businessman Mark Jukes, 61, in Cardigan, Ceredigion has proposed the construction of these desirable residences for his three girls on a greenfield site adjacent to their family home.

The three sisters - school teacher Celyn, waitress Sara and saleswoman Carys - have put their names to the planning application to build four "affordable" homes next to each other in a row. However, local planning officials ruled that describing the four new detached houses as affordable for most local people was "bonkers". The sisters have applied for permission to line up the three and four-bedroom detached houses in an agricultural field in Cardigan, close to where they currently live with their family.

Each home would feature en suite bedrooms, a home office, and luxurious open-plan kitchens leading out to the garden, with a fourth house potentially earmarked for Mr Jukes' sister.
