Friday, October 4, 2024 Cunard Line is set to elevate its summer 2025 offerings by hosting the illustrious Cuban ballet company, Acosta Danza, aboard the majestic Queen Victoria cruise ship. From May 26 to July 7, passengers will experience a unique six-week residency that promises a blend of world-class performances, interactive workshops, and engaging discussions. Founded by the internationally celebrated ballerina Carlos Acosta, Acosta Danza has garnered critical acclaim for its innovative approach to dance.
During their residency, the company will present two exclusive performances, with details to be unveiled as the dates approach. These shows are expected to showcase the company’s signature fusion of classical and contemporary dance, infused with Cuba’s vibrant musical and cultural heritage. Beyond the captivating performances, guests will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of enriching activities.
Acosta Danza will conduct workshops and panel discussions in the ship’s elegant Royal Court Theatre, offering insights into the art of dance and the creative process behind the company’s productions. Additionally, attendees can enjoy “Yuli: The Carlos Acosta Story,” a poignant biographical film directed by the acclaimed Iciar Bollain. The film will be available for viewing either in the Royal Court Theatre or conveniently on stateroom televisions.
