MOULTRIE — If you were to ask Bueris Crumpton how old she is, she will tell you she does not remember. Her age has been a 100 year old mystery in our family, until this past year when she finally confirmed how old she was. On August 9, 2024 my grandmother turned 101 and she was surrounded by her loved ones to celebrate.

101 years, and she has resided in Georgia through the majority of them. Born and raised in Decatur County to a family of farmers as Bueris Keaton. She is one of five children who grew up with values instilled in her such as always putting God first, the importance of family, and helping anyone if you are able.

Values Bueris was able to pass down for generations to come. Two sons, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren to be exact. She may claim not to remember her age, but there are parts of her life that are unforgettable.

The 50 years she spent married to her late husband, Woodrow Crumpton, are her most treasured years, and the two boys they had together are her proudest moments. Woodrow proposed and they got married before he was deployed back into World War II, and Bueris patiently waited for him to come home. They began their beautiful life together on July 14, 1942, and to this day, 82 years later, she will still tell you how wonderful it was to be able to share this life with someone who loved her so well.

Together they raised two boys, Roger and Michael Crumpton, who created their own families’ foundations based on those their parents set .
