Monday, September 9, 2024 Croatia has experienced a remarkable surge in tourism this year, with 16.9 million tourist arrivals and 89.4 million overnight stays recorded in the first eight months, marking a notable four per cent rise in arrivals and a one per cent increase in overnight stays compared to the same period last year.

This growth in tourism was highlighted by a Croatian tourism official during a press briefing on Monday, signaling the country’s continued appeal as a top European destination. Germany, Slovenia, and Austria emerged as the leading contributors to Croatia’s tourism, with 2.5 million, 1.

4 million, and 1.26 million visitors, respectively, from January to August. Croatia’s Minister of Tourism and Sports, Tonci Glavina, emphasized the significance of these numbers at a recent press conference.

Glavina also pointed out that the tourism sector’s positive momentum is projected to boost Croatia’s tourism revenue, with the Croatian National Bank estimating a four per cent increase, potentially reaching a record-breaking 15.2 billion euros (16.78 billion US dollars) this year.

In addition to these figures, Croatia’s tourism industry has been actively expanding its offerings to attract a more diverse range of travelers.
