FAIRMONT, W.Va. (WV News) — Sophomore Rowan Cramer fired three touchdown passes and ran for another score to key East Fairmont past Braxton County 35-6 Friday night at East-West Stadium.

The win evened the Bees record at 2-2, while the Eagles fell to 0-4. Cramer connected on 9 of 13 passes for 175 yards and added 30 yards on seven rushes. “He’s been smart with the ball and he’s made good decisions,” East coach Shane Eakle said of Cramer.

“He’s shown a lot of resiliency and the kids are rallying around him. “He’s had some hiccups but he’s really coming along.” Cramer’s impact on the game came on East’s first play from scrimmage as he lofted a beautiful pass that Gavin Murphy ran under en route to a 57-yard touchdown at the 7:33 mark of the first quarter.

Braxton’s defense tightened some the remainder of the half, but East was able to overcome a 3rd-and-26 play with Cramer’s 32-yard TD pass to Connor Wilson that made it 13-0 late in the second quarter. Murphy laid to rest any hopes of a BC comeback as he returned the second half kickoff 86 yards for a touchdown and a 20-0 East lead. After forcing a three-and-out, East would score again on Cramer’s three-yard run at the 7:43 mark of the third quarter to make it 27-0.

Cramer capped off his stellar evening with a 26-yard TD pass to Cole Vangilder and a 2-point conversion pass to Jayden Priolette. The Eagles finally got on the board with their first touchdown of the season- as Logan Payne rambled in .
