Pune: A special court on Friday rejected the interim anticipatory bail plea filed by a labour contractor , who has been named by the Pune police for a conspiracy to swap blood samples of minors in the Porsche Taycan crash case. Lawyer Abid Mulani, representing the applicant, said, "The court has rejected our prayer for interim relief and has directed the Pune police to file a written submission on the anticipatory bail plea filed by my client. The matter is slated for hearing on Aug 29.

" The contractor's son was one of the two minors who accompanied the 17-year-old driver at the time of the accident on May 19. Along with the underage driver, the police had referred the two minors to Sassoon General Hospital for blood alcohol tests. Recently, the police found that the blood samples of the accompanying minors were also changed.

On Aug 20, the police arrested a jeweller-cum-realtor, who is the contractor's friend and gave his blood sample for a swap, and an aviation spares firm owner, who is the father of the other minor. The contractor has since been on the run and has filed an anticipatory bail plea. On Thursday, his lawyer pleaded for interim anticipatory bail till the court decided his anticipatory bail plea on grounds that he was not named in the chargesheet filed against the tennage driver's parents, three suspended staffers from Sassoon hospital, and two middlemen.

The lawyer argued that his client's son was not named as an accused in the car crash case..
