A couple were left gobsmacked after discovering a stunning hidden floor under their home's carpet, estimated to be worth a whopping £25,000. Josh and Emily Brooks stumbled upon the treasure while renovating their Walthamstow, London home . Hidden beneath old carpet was diamond parquet flooring in "perfect condition".
The couple, Josh, 37, and Emily, 38, called in a flooring specialist who valued the find between £20,000-£25,000 with the floor extending from the hallway into the lounge. The pair shared their incredible discovery on TikTok, in a video that has since gone viral with around 2.6 million views.
"We'd seen a tiny corner when we visited the house but when we found out it was diamond parquet in perfect condition we were blown away," explained Josh, a camera operator. "Given the floor space it covers we are looking at [a worth of] maybe £20,000-25,000.
We are going to keep it and do a fine sand throughout then finish with either a varnish or stain," he continued. Their TikTok video has since racked up more than 225,000 likes. One person commented: "You hit the floor lottery!" While another impressed viewer added: "Ooooo it's a diamond parquet.
