A couple were completely taken aback when they unearthed a stunning piece of flooring beneath their home's carpet, which has an estimated worth of £25,000. Josh and Emily Brooks were in the midst of revamping their home in Walthamstow, London, when they chanced upon the exquisite diamond parquet flooring in immaculate condition hidden under the worn carpet. The astonishing find by 37-year-old Josh, a camera operator, and his wife Emily, 38, led them to call in a flooring expert who pegged its value at an astounding £20,000-£25,000 as it ran from the hallway to the lounge.
The pair took to TikTok with their revelation, posting a clip that rapidly attracted some 2.6 million views, sending people into a frenzy over their luck. "We'd seen a tiny corner when we visited the house but when we found out it was diamond parquet in perfect condition we were blown away," expressed Josh.
"We had a flooring specialist come round to have a look and told us it's some of the best type of oak he's seen and in excellent condition. "Given the floor space it covers we are looking at [a worth of] maybe £20,000-25,000. We are going to keep it and do a fine sand throughout then finish with either a varnish or stain.
