Prayagraj: UP Special Task Force (STF) on Friday claimed to have arrested a Naini couple from Ahmedabad about 17 years after they were booked in a job fraud case. The couple was carrying a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh (Rs 50,000 each) on their arrest . The STF also seized two mobile phones and Rs 600 cash from their possession.

Acting on a tip-off about the absconding couple, who had taken refuge at Shivanta Apartment (Bakery City) under Bejalpur police station of Ahmedabad, a team of the STF (Prayagraj unit) arrested them. Arrested fraudster Amit Srivastava told police that he, along with his wife Shikha Srivastava, had a consultancy agency in Georgetown in 2007 where they used to offer jobs to engineers and software developers. Those who applied were asked to deposit security ranging from Rs 80,000 to Rs 1 lakh.

After collecting a huge amount from aspirants, the couple escaped from the city about 17 years ago. The duo moved to Delhi and other places to evade police. Finally, they settled in Ahmedabad about six years ago.
