Then, she got embroiled with twisted lawyer Joel Deering (portrayed by Calum Lill) the same bloke who preyed on Lauren Bolton (played by Cait Fitton), tried to murder their child, Frankie.
Betsy started blackmailing Joel after catching him plying her mate Sabrina (played by Luana Santos) with booze. But things took a dark turn when he lashed out and attacked her. Ultimately, Betsy grassed Joel up to her police officer mum DS Swain, seemingly teeing up his much-deserved downfall.
However, in a twist during Wednesday's show (September 18), turns out Betsy's hands aren't clean as she is actually deep in Joel's dodgy dealings. In the episode, Betsy gave a worrying nod to her crime to bestie Sabrina but kept quiet on the details, suggesting she was tangled in Joel's nefarious activities, reports . She then reflected on how Lauren's baby Frankie, who was born early because Joel had drugged Lauren, might now be suffering because of what Joel did.
Towards the end of Wednesday's drama, Betsy even popped into the hospital to see Lauren and the poorly Frankie, which left Lauren stewing over who she could be. After saying she was "sorry" without giving the full picture, Betsy legged.
