The actor, famed for portraying Kirk Sutherland, took to Instagram to reply to a user who criticised him for not buying a luxury vehicle. Andy chose to buy a turbocharged sportage GT line Kia with 10,000 annual mileage, instead of a luxury model.

Upon sharing a snap of his new wheels, one troll commented: "I'd of thought with all your money you'd of had a decent car!" The 43 year old soap star answered: "Kia's are a decent car, and I don't earn as much as you probably think I do." Supportive fans rushed to defend his choice, with one enthusing: "Congrats! Andy you will love this, it's an awesome car!!" Another added: "Lovely car, Kia make good cars, enjoy it you deserve it." His high end purchase comes after we revealed that Andy had recently signed a large six figure salary to remain on the cobbles for the foreseeable future, having already played the character of Kirk Sutherland for an incredible 21 years.
