A Coronation Street icon has signed up Dancing On Ice for the 2025 series. Sam Aston - who plays Chesney Brown on the ITV soap - has been confirmed for the ITV skating show, becoming the fourth celebrity to sign up for the programme. Earlier today, Ferne McCann , The Traitors star Mollie Pearce and Olympics rowing legend Sir Steve Redgrave were all confirmed for the upcoming 2025 series during appearances on Good Morning Britain , Lorraine and This Morning .

Speaking to Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley on This Morning today, Sam revealed: "I'm nervous but it still feels like forever to go. I'm excited to get going. It's going to be nice for the public to see me for me rather than Chesney.

" Earlier on the mid-morning show, Sir Steve Redgrave appeared on the programme to confirm he was joining the show. He recalled how he had recorded a video for show stars Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean as they marked the 40th anniversary of their Olympics win as he had also won a medal four decades ago too. At the time, he joked about them getting him on the show and that's exactly what they did.

Steve said it was like being back competing again, as he prepared for daily rehearsals and practice. He quipped: "People are rowers because they can't catch or throw. Rowing is a very coordinated sport, but it ends up with people not being very coordinated because they've done the same movements over and over again.
