Earlier this year, DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) made a return to the cobbles as part of the missing Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) investigation. As fans will recall, Lauren went missing from Weatherfield back at the start of the year - with the troubled youngster being presumed dead.
However, Lauren made her shock return recently - and it was revealed that it was sicko solicitor Joel Deering (Calum Lill) who was behind her disappearance. Joel wormed his way into Lauren’s life after helping her out with bills, eventually coercing her into a sexual relationship. He then left he for dead after bashing her head in, following a heated argument where Lauren mentioned fiancee Dee-Dee Bailey’s (Channique Sterling-Brown) name.
As well as that, he fathered her newborn baby and recently tried to kill her, drugging her in a desperate attempt to kill the baby. His sickening plan didn't work though, as she went into labour early and the baby survived.
