TUCSON —The Coronado National Forest finalized the purchase of 149 acres of public land in Santa Cruz County. The Duquesne Road Parcel Acquisition is located in the San Rafael Valley, along Forest Road 61/Duquesne Road, a scenic drive in the Sierra Vista Ranger District, Coronado National Forest. The San Rafael Valley is approximately 85 miles southeast of the Tucson metropolitan area, home to approximately one million residents, and near the communities of Nogales, Patagonia, Sonoita, Elgin, and Sierra Vista.
The valley provides a beautiful and historical setting for a variety of recreational activities, including scenic driving on gravel roads, bicycling, hiking, camping, wildlife watching, and hunting..
