Construction has recently started on a new addition to the city centre's most high-profile dining street following a spate of closures over the last year. A premises on Princes Street has been boarded up as construction crews are hard at work transforming the disused retail premises into a new city centre restaurant. The address was once home to Cork tech business PC Maestro before they made the move to larger premises on Parnell Place.

Planning documents show the restaurant will have two seating sections with a mix of chairs and booths as well as a bar seating area. The documents do not give any indication as to what kind of cuisine will be served at the new restaurant but confirm it will also operate as a takeaway. A new addition to Cork's premier dining street will always be welcome - particularly after the high-profile closures of other popular dining spots on Prince's Street in recent months.
