Thursday, August 22, 2024 The Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China will deliver its first-ever C919 aircraft to Air China and China Southern on Wednesday, marking a major milestone in China’s aviation industry. On Wednesday, August 28, COMAC (Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China) will deliver its inaugural C919 aircraft to both China Southern Airlines and Air China, making these carriers the second and third to receive the C919 after China Eastern Airlines. This event is a significant milestone for COMAC, the airlines involved, and China’s civil aviation sector as a whole.

The delivery ceremony, set to take place at COMAC’s Pudong manufacturing facility near Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG), will be attended by senior officials from COMAC, Air China, China Southern, and the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC). Earlier this month, on August 3rd and 9th, China Southern and Air China completed the maiden production test flights for their respective C919 aircraft. Air China has disclosed the cabin configuration of its C919 on its official website, highlighting a two-class arrangement with a total of 158 seats.

This includes 8 seats in business class and 150 seats in economy class, offering what is considered the most spacious cabin layout available for the C919. China Southern’s first C919 aircraft will feature a three-class configuration, comprising business class, Pearl economy class (premium economy), and economy class, with a total of 164 .
