Prayagraj: The Indian Railways has come up with a unique solution to help devotees identify railway employees easily during the Maha Kumbh gathering at Prayagraj Junction. Anticipating a massive turnout of devotees, the railways authorities have implemented a colour-coded system for the safety jackets worn by employees from different departments. The Prayagraj Division of North Central Railway (NCR) has made it mandatory for railway employees to wear safety jackets of specific colours while on duty during the Maha Kumbh.
According to Himanshu Shukla, senior DCM of Prayagraj division: "This arrangement is being made in view of passenger convenience during the Maha Kumbh, wherein the colour would be based on the department under which the given employee is deployed at the Junction." This will enable devotees to quickly identify and approach the concerned department's employee for any assistance they may require. For instance, employees of the commercial department will wear green safety jackets while RPF personnel will don orange-coloured jackets.
To further facilitate passengers, boards installed at various locations in the station will display information about which department's employees are wearing which colour jacket. A total of 11 departments have been assigned different colours for their safety jackets. The colour scheme is as follows: greenish-yellow for the operational department, fluorescent green for the commercial department, orange for the railway protection force.
