Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are about to touch down in Colombia for a whirlwind tour of the South American country. While the trouble nation may be best known for recent political unrest and drug gang violence, it is also a beautiful country with a vibrant culture and a long stretch of stunning coastline to explore. Many of Colombia's beaches are made up of glittery white and pink sand, with crystal clear waters at their edge, restaurants serving locally-sourced fish and hotels offering serene escapes.

If Harry and Meghan have time to slip away from the meet-and-greets and tours of the three cities we know they're visiting - Bogotá, Cartagena and Cali – then they might want to consider a little dip at one of the following magnificent Colombian beaches. Tintipán Island Located 50 km southwest of Cartagena in the Caribbean Sea is the San Bernardo Archipelago, a set of ten small islands with several beautiful beaches. The largest of them is the Island of Tintipán, which is part of the Rosario Islands National Natural Park.

The National Park is known for its underwater ecosystems such as coral reefs, wetlands and mangroves. This means the biodiversity on the beach is a great combination of wildlife and plants. The small population on the island prioritises the conservation of species found in the area, but there are still many activities visitors are able to partake in such as bird watching or diving in the place called 'The Diver’s Island' to see the marine life.
