Paul Lakin has promised two "very special nights" at Sewell Group Craven Park after securing two Coldplay gigs next year. In an extraordinary coup for the club and the city, the world-renowned rock band will play at Hull KR's stadium in August 2025 as part of their ongoing world tour. The magnitude of the concerts can't be understated.
Glastonbury headliners this year, Craven Park will be one of just two European cities Coldplay will perform at next year, the other being London when they do several nights at Wembley Stadium. Sell-outs are almost guaranteed as Rovers prepare to pay host to one of the most successful bands in British history. Coldplay are renowned for their incredible live concerts and the Rovers chief executive has confirmed nothing will be scaled back when they arrive at Craven Park.
"We are truly delighted to bring the world’s biggest band to East Hull," he said. "Sewell Group Craven Park will be rocking for two consecutive nights for the biggest show the City has ever seen. "We can’t wait to proudly represent the whole region and North of England, as part of the only European dates announced outside of London.
"The stadium is no stranger to big acts with Hull’s very own Beautiful South selling out 25,000 tickets in our 2017 City of Culture year, alongside other major concerts from The Who, Little Mix, Rod Stewart and Tom Jones. "However this is on another level, with Coldplay bringing their full, and same production that will be inside Wembley stadium.
