Mumbai: Ahead of the assembly elections , chief minister Eknath Shinde, along with his deputies, will inaugurate, lay foundation stones, and carry out ‘bhoomipujan' for a slew of BMC projects , including the Rs 280 crore development of the precincts of Mumbadevi and Mahalaxmi Temples, on Monday. The inauguration and groundbreaking ceremony will be conducted near the proposed Bhagoji Seth Keer Memorial in the vicinity of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Maidan at Dadar West. The chief minister will also lay the foundation stone for the Jagannath Shankarsheth Memorial at Antop Hill and for the Bhagoji Sheth Kir Memorial during the ceremony.

Earlier this year, Shinde allocated Rs 220 crore for the beautification of the Mumbadevi temple and directed BMC to provide Rs 60 crore for the development of Mahalakshmi premises. Additionally, Rs 35 crore was allocated for the Jagannath Shankarsheth memorial at Antop Hill, and Rs 20 crore was allocated for the Bhagoji Seth Keer memorial. The inauguration of an art gallery and library created within BEST buses placed under the JJ Flyover, and a food truck at Badhwar Park, besides ‘bhoomipujan' of the beautification of the promenade and protective wall along the seashore of Mahim Koliwada, and ‘bhoomipujan' of the beautification of the footpath along Arun Kumar Vaidya Marg in Mahim from Mahim Traffic Chowki to Bandra pumping station, will be carried out on the same day.
