The Oscar-winning actor and director, 94, confirmed Sandera's death in a heartbreaking statement on Thursday. The pair had been in a relationshi p since 2014. Sandera died of a heart attack, a representative from the Monterey County Health Department confirmed to the New York Post .
The death certificate listed her immediate cause as cardiac arrhythmia,an abnormality in the timing or pattern of the heartbeat. Atherosclerotic coronary artery disease was cited as an additional condition that led to Sandera’s death.
