Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation has decided to inspect the Katraj-Kondhwa Road where potholes emerged a few weeks after repairs. The civic body will scrutinize the materials used for the repairs. "The repairs should be of good quality.

They should be carried out in a scientific manner. We will check if all the due processes were followed or not while repairing the road," said Aniruddha Pawaskar, head of PMC's road department. Citizens have said that the roads are of poor quality and it is double challenge for them.

They said that they are suffering while commuting on the road and, in addition to the suffering, it is a wastage of public funds. The residents in the vicinity said the road repairs were done in the end of Aug and the first week of Sept. These repairs lasted just a week, they said.

"The civic administration should make sure that they are giving us a good road. The commuters face a lot of hardships while using the Katraj-Kondhwa Road. Years have passed, but the problems still persist," said Rucha Athawale, a resident of Katraj.

Dinesh Joshi, a resident of Rajas Society, said commuting in the vicinity is next to impossible because of mismanaged traffic. "The biggest concern in our area is traffic jams . Not only small vehicles, but heavy vehicles also pass through the junction.
