1 2 3 4 5 6 Prayagraj: Several govt, social organisations and educational institutions of the city joined the nation in celebrating the 78th Independence Day on Thursday through a series of programmes. At Reserve Police Lines, chief guest, cabinet minister Swatantra Dev Singh hoisted the national flag and honoured distinguished players. On this occasion, a cultural programme was presented by schoolchildren.

The police commissioner and the district magistrate presented a memento to the chief guest. The day was celebrated with enthusiasm in the High Court as well where Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court, Justice Arun Bhansali, hoisted the national flag on the court campus in the presence of all judges. Advocate general of Uttar Pradesh, Ajay Kumar Misra, also hoisted the flag on the lawn of his office in the presence of state law officers and staff.

Besides, president of Allahabad High Court Bar Association, Anil Tiwari, took part in celebrations in the bar association office in the presence of the secretary of the bar, Vikrant Pandey, and other lawyers. At the headquarters of Central Air Command (CAC), Bamrauli, CAC, Air Marshal AK Bharti, hoisted the tricolour and led the Tiranga cycle rally wherein about 35 participants carried the national flag symbolising speed, strength, and patriotism . Celebrations were also held at North Central Railway (NCR) headquarters.
