princeton — Several matters having to do with city projects were passed by the Princeton City Council at its meeting Monday night The first action was a motion approving the 2024 city street paving list made by Councilwoman Jacqueline Rucker and seconded by Vice Mayor James Hawkins. The streets covered by the motion are South Wickham Avenue from marking at 390 S. Wickham to marking at 384 S.

Wickham; North Johnston from Honaker Avenue intersection to marking at the alley; Justin Jesse 4350 square feet; Davis Street and alley from Ingleside Road intersection to the alley behind Burger King; and 406 Park Avenue alley from the intersection to the marking. Code Enforcement Officer Ty Smith said the last four dilapidated buildings covered by current grant funding had been condemned and that the city was in the process of applying for more grant funding. Fire Chief Charlie Croy said a new firefighter had been hired to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Matt Mould.

Croy added that the city in conjunction with West Virginia-American Water Company had fixed two out-of- service fire hydrants and a third had been replaced. On motion of Councilman Marshall Lytton and second by Councilman Joe Allen, council approved the July City Financial Report. On motion of Lytton and second by Rucker, David and Cindi’s Altruist Realty Group at 214 South Walker Street and Hydra Holdings at 833 Mercer Street were approved for B&O Tax Incentives.
