Beijing: A man allegedly lived with his wife and four lovers in the same housing complex—all unaware of each other in China—for almost four years, before the truth came out. Notably, one of his lovers lived in the same building as his wife, reported the South China Morning Post. This secret arrangement left Chinese social media completely astonished.

The story looks similar to the Indian Bollywood film 'Kis Kisko Pyar Krun', starring comedian Kapil Sharma. The man, who goes by the pseudonym Xiaojun, hails from Jilin province in northeastern China. Xiaojun had a poor financial background and dropped out of secondary school.

But he presented himself as a "rich second-generation," and with this persona, he wooed his wife, Xiaojia. He claimed that his parents were successful businesspeople, while, in reality, his mother worked as a bathhouse attendant and his father dodged between part-time jobs at construction sites. He often bought counterfeit luxury items online as gifts for his future wife to protect his "rich image.
