This surge has positioned China as a key contributor to the growth of Türkiye’s tourism sector. During the same period, Türkiye saw a total of 29 million foreign tourists, marking an 8.27 percent increase compared to the previous year, as per the ministry’s latest figures released on Friday.
Russia emerged as the top source of tourists, with 3.6 million visitors, representing a 3.2 percent year-on-year growth.
Germany followed closely with 3.5 million visitors, an increase of 9 percent, and Britain ranked third, sending 2.4 million visitors, which signifies a remarkable 18 percent rise.
Other major contributors included Iran and Bulgaria, rounding out the top five. Istanbul, Türkiye’s largest city and a renowned cultural center, attracted the highest number of tourists, accounting for 36 percent of the total. Antalya, famed for its stunning beaches and historical attractions, came in second with 29.
