Attracting 252,000 passengers from more than 100 countries and regions, the railway has significantly boosted economic growth in port cities, enhanced cross-border tourism, and fostered cultural exchanges.

In collaboration with customs and border inspection departments, the railway has implemented several measures to improve the travel experience. These include online booking customs clearance for inbound tourist groups, 24-hour barrier-free customs clearance, and the creation of “Belt and Road” and 144-hour transit visa-free special channels. Known for its affordability, convenience, efficiency, comfort, and safety, the China-Laos Railway has become the preferred choice for travelers, students, and those engaging in business and cultural exchanges along its route.

In 2024 alone, the railway facilitated 12.73 million trips, reflecting an 11.9 percent year-on-year increase, showcasing its strong growth momentum and promising development prospects.
