A nursery in Little Lever where children ‘blossom’ has received a good rating in its first Ofsted inspection under its current operators. Ofsted said children at Ashbourne Day Nurseries’ Little Lever branch take ‘great pleasure’ in joining in dancing sessions and in developing their creativity. The nursery received a ‘good’ rating in all areas of inspection: education quality, behaviour, personal development, and leadership and management.

Staff at the nursery, which has 25 children on roll, were praised by inspectors for their positive attitude, with children said to learn how to share and take turns, and interacting with one another in a respectful manner. Ofsted inspector Lois Hulley praised the nursery’s management for its self-evaluation and an accurate view of the quality of care and education, establishing a consistent staff team which meant children and parents ‘benefit from dependable relationships with familiar staff’. The nursery was also praised for working in partnership with parents, sharing information about the children’s progress in a daily handover and working with external agencies .
