After a controversial few weeks that saw her bail out of the Miss South Africa pageant, 23-year-old Chidimma is now set to compete on the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant. The law student, born to a Mozambican mother and Nigerian mother, will now be on the contestant roster for Miss Universe Nigeria, after the pageant’s organizers expressed interest and invited her to join the race following the controversy. Making the announcement on her Instagram, Adetshina wrote: “I have received an invitation from the Silverbird Group who are the organisers of the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024, and I say this with great excitement because I have decided to accept the invitation.

I have decided to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 beauty pageant.” Adestshina will now represent Miss Taraba on Miss Nigeria, and is already leading the race with over 7712 votes. The mother of one withdrew out of the Miss South Africa, despite having made the top 11, after the country’s Department of Home Affairs commenced a preliminary investigation into her citizenship.
