An American fried chicken brand is set to open in Sussex. Wingstop, described as a premium alternative to KFC, recently opened its 50th UK store having surpassed 2,200 stores globally. Now, the fast food outlet will open its newest store in Crawley later this month.

Wingstop announced that its restaurant will open in Crawley Leisure Park in London Road on August 26. It will take over the unit formerly run by Harvester which closed earlier this year. The store will open from 11am and 11pm seven days a week.

The business , run by Lemon Pepper Holdings in the UK, was also granted an alcohol license by Crawley Borough Council but does not offer alcohol on its menu. The chicken restaurant primarily sells wings and boneless chicken as well as burgers, chicken tenders and loaded fries. The restaurant offers its chicken in a number of different flavoured marinades ranging in spice levels including "Brazilian citrus pepper", "mango habanero" and "atomic".

The new restaurant is a first for the brand in Sussex. The majority of the brand's sites operate in London and the North West with other stores in Southampton and Reading.
