The final leisure units at Chester's Northgate Development have been snapped up, with a fitness studio the latest to open its doors. The Fit Collective, a boutique fitness studio, has now relocated to the award-winning Northgate development in a newly fitted out 2,600 sq ft unit facing St Martins Way, close to Chester Market and the New Market Parking. The news comes as three more food and drink venues are getting ready to open their doors.

Turtle Bay has had its opening date delayed since an explosion on the 3,000 sq ft site injured three contractors. Now work is finally nearing completion and the Caribbean restaurant is due to open in October, the first such one in Cheshire. It will be joined by Popina, which takes the 1,800 sq ft ground-floor unit behind the Picturehouse Cinema foyer.

It is expected to open before Christmas. An upmarket destination for wine and cocktails, charcuterie and small plates all inspired by popinae, the ancient Roman taverns where people gathered to eat, drink, and socialise. Due to open early next year at the 3,000 sq ft corner unit next door to Turtle Bay is BoBo.

Specialising in authentic Portuguese and Spanish cuisine, the restaurant will be the group’s third, alongside ones in West Kirby and Liverpool.
