Chennai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off two Vande Bharat trains, Chennai Egmore – Nagercoil and Madurai – Bangalore Cantonment, through video conferencing on Saturday, August 31.

Flagging off of Vande Bharat trains by Prime Minister between Chennai Egmore and Nagercoil to reduce travel time for businessmen and IT professionals and to facilitate spiritual travel in Madurai and Kanniyakumari. The Chennai Egmore – Nagercoil Vande Bharat Express will cover 724 km in under nine hours. Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi from Chennai Central, Central Broadcasting and Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting L Murugan will flag off the Vande Bharat train running between Egmore – Nagarcoil at the Chennai Central railway station.

This Vande Bharat train will run from Central station only on the inaguration day and it will operates from Egmore railway station on other days. Similarly, Union Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti, V Somanna is going to inaugurate the Vande Bharat train running between Madurai and Bengaluru. Although these trains will be started on Saturday, they will run as per the regular schedule from September 2.
