Birth: 1934 Death: 2024 Charlotte Ann (Merideth) Haravey, age 90, died Wednesday June 26, 2024 in Boulder, CO. Born in DeQueen, Arkansas to Jack Merideth (a sign maker) and Pauline Lutrell (a housewife), she was the oldest of three girls. Beloved and voted “most beautiful” in her senior year of high school, she became Arkansas state champion in the snare drum, traveling to other states to compete, and received a scholarship to nursing school.

Charlotte met her husband, Francois Haravey, MD, while in nursing school in Shreveport, LA, and finished her R.N. degree in Memphis, TN.

After living in New Orleans for five fun-filled and impactful years, they moved on to Boston, Phoenix and San Francisco. Finally settling in Pasadena, CA, she spent almost fifty years in her career as a nurse and raised her daughter Charmaine there. She divorced in 1971.

When her daughter left home for college, Charlotte wanted a new challenge and received training in oncology. In the last years of her career, she specialized in gynecologic oncology and retired fully at age 77. Charlotte loved movies (with popcorn and wine), entertaining with dinners, cocktails and conversation, sewing, classical music, and reading fiction.

She was a member of the Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens and held tickets to the Pasadena Symphony and Coleman Chamber Music concerts. She attended the Live at the Met opera performances for many years. In 2016 she moved to Boulder to be closer to her daughter and her hus.
