A new retirement development in Swindon has been named. The Wilts & Berks Canal Trust helped name the new McCarthy Stone development in Wichelstowe, Locks View. The name was inspired by the Wilts and Berks Canal that runs alongside the development and the locks on the canal at Wichelstowe East.
Apartments will be available to buy off-plan from early 2025, with a sales suite open for viewings from spring 2025. The Wilts & Berks Canal Trust, which helped come up with the name, play a key role in the preservation and conservation of the canal, which starts in Wiltshire and moves through Swindon and into Oxfordshire. The charity’s aim is to create a sustainable and bio-diverse corridor that provides a host of attractive lifestyle and economic benefits to the community, while also providing a safe haven for local wildlife.
