Channel 4 aired the gruesome horror Generation Z on Sunday (October 27), but some viewers were underwhelmed by the zombie series. The six-episode series was created by cult director Ben Wheatley, who is known for films such as A Field in England, Kill List, Sightseers and Free Fire. The show opened in the quiet town of Danbury, which is generally rather grey and boring.
That is until an unlikely apocalypse begins to unfold. Events kick off when an army convoy overturns, and a chemical leak has an immediate effect on the residents of a nearby care home. The OAPs immediately savage their care staff and break out of the home to find fresh young meat.
Meanwhile, a group of teenagers have to deal with the apocalypse that's taken over their sleepy town. Sue Johnston, Robert Lindsay, Anita Dobson, and Johnny Vegas star in the gory mini-series, which has divided viewers. Generation Z viewers wasted no time flooding social media with their views on the new gory drama, with one person writing on X: "I gave it half an hour but not for me.
#generationz." A second exclaimed: "#Generationz, what a load of rubbish," while a third chimed in: "Is the dialogue improvised? had to put subtitles on to understand what they were saying, but still not rocking my boat. No idea what's going on.
" Another added: "#GenerationZ Gave up after 5 mins ...
I'm waiting for repeat of #CelebrityGogglebox", while another said: "Turned it off at the ad break. #generation." But some viewers enjoyed the show, with o.
