Friday, August 30, 2024 Changi Airport unveils its inaugural floral extravaganza, open until September 30, offering a breathtaking display of blooms. The ‘A Sunflower Sojourn’ exhibit at Changi Airport showcases an impressive collection of over 5,000 sunflowers, featuring more than 10 distinct varieties scattered across 20 different spots in all terminals. This exhibition expands outside to the Hub & Spoke area, marking it as the most extensive sunflower display ever at an airport.

In Terminals 2 and 3’s Departure Halls, visitors are welcomed by breathtaking floral arrangements, including gigantic sunflower topiary sculptures that reach heights of five and eight meters. From the vibrant classic yellow ‘Sunrise’ sunflower to the unique red and yellow ‘Florenza’ and the soft pastel pink ‘Strawberry Blonde’, each flower is carefully cultivated in the airport’s own plant nursery. Guests can enjoy the beauty and brightness of these sunflowers while learning about their cultural relevance, environmental benefits, and various applications.

Coinciding with the September school break and the Mid-Autumn Festival, this floral extravaganza is a perfect destination for families, tourists, and flower enthusiasts. Honoring the Sunflower Legacy at Changi Airport Since 2002, the Sunflower Garden at Changi Airport’s Terminal 2 departure transit area has become a hallmark of the airport’s commitment to integrating nature within its premises.
