TWIN FALLS — A fundraising giveaway five years in the making is about to come to fruition. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Magic Valley have been selling raffle tickets since July for the chance to win a brand new home on the east side of Twin Falls. Proceeds from ticket sales will help bolster the club's budget.

The idea for a dream home giveaway began about five years ago, Stephanie Hudson, director of advancement for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Magic Valley, said, but it was derailed by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Discussions about making the raffle a reality resumed in earnest about two years ago. "In the last five years, we have expanded from three locations to 10, and our budget has probably tripled," she said.

"We know we need additional resources to serve kids well, and that was the catalyst for launching another fundraiser." Hudson said club leaders felt that there was an opportunity to engage people who are supportive of the work the club does, but don't always have the opportunity to give cash donations. "We felt like this was a great avenue to engage partners in the subcontractor space and the construction space, allowing them to contribute in a way that works for them," she said.

Setting up the raffle was more complex than expected, especially with legal regulations. "We started working with an attorney in the Boise area to help us understand the rules and regulations," she said. "It turned out to be quite a learning curve for us.

" Once the legal issues were ironed .
