Investigators have found no credible evidence to support the texts, which allege "potential violence surrounding possible gang initiations," according to Morse.

Morse said the same text messages have circulated earlier this year and in years prior. "We encourage everyone to stop spreading these unfounded messages," Morse said in the release.
