Uttarakhand, often referred to as the ‘Land of Gods’, is a stunning destination nestled in the majestic Himalayas. Renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, the state offers a rich blend of snowy peaks, pristine lakes, verdant valleys, and revered temples.

This enchanting region draws travelers with its serene natural beauty and cultural heritage, making it a top spot for nature lovers, spiritual seekers, and adventure enthusiasts alike. This year, Uttarakhand is celebrating a significant achievement as four of its villages have been recognized for their unique contributions to tourism. The villages of Jakholi, Harshil, Seeman Gunji, and Soupi have all earned awards for their distinct offerings.

Jakholi in Uttarkashi has been honored for its potential in adventure tourism, while Harshil and Seeman Gunji, also in Uttarkashi and Pithoragarh, respectively, have been recognized under the Vibrant Village initiative. Soupi, located in Nainital, has been acknowledged for its role in promoting agricultural tourism. The recognition of these villages is part of an annual competition organized by the Ministry of Tourism.

This initiative aims to shine a light on villages that not only preserve their cultural and natural heritage but also embrace community-based values and sustainable.
