On Instagram, the Miss Universe 2018 shared that they were robbed on their way to the airport. Based on the social media post of Catriona, they stopped for lunch on their way to the airport.

However, they returned to the car finding the window smashed and their belongings gone. Catriona Gray and her parents lost their passports to the robbery incident.
