Baby Shanaya Was Diagnosed With Biliary Atresia A rare condition where bile flow from the liver is obstructed, leading to severe complications. From birth, Shanaya endured deep yellow discolouration of her eyes, abdominal distension, and progressively worsening health . By the time she reached Narayana Health, her condition had deteriorated to the point of severe drowsiness, bleeding in stools, jaundice, and a significantly distended abdomen.

World Organ Donation Day 2024 In a powerful demonstration of the life-giving potential of organ donation, Shanaya's mother, who was a perfect match, became her daughter's living donor. The 12-hour surgery was successfully performed, marking a crucial turning point in Shanaya's journey toward recovery. Following the transplant, Shanaya's recovery was closely monitored by a multidisciplinary team.
