Two Bolton stores have shut after a rescue deal failed to incorporate local branches Carpetright was bought in a rescue deal from rival Tapi. But despite this it was announced earlier this week that 213 stores and 1,000 jobs were to go. Following on from this the two stores in Bolton have both closed.

(Image: Google) The Carpetright section of the store has been closed off to visitors and will also be shutting down. Kevin Barrett, chief executive of Carpetright parent firm Nestware Holdings, said: “Our focus over the last week has been to secure external investment to ensure job security for a number of our Carpetright colleagues up and down the country. “Whilst we succeeded in finding a buyer, the deal is limited to a select number of stores rather than the business as a whole and will sadly impact a large number of colleagues and staff.
