Carolinabis, a company that started selling wholesale THC flavored waters about two years ago, has opened a retail shop in Clemmons. The Carolinabis store is at 6355 Jessie Lane, next to The Playground Golf and Sports Bar, on the back side of Clemmons Town Center. “People kept asking us if we had a store.

And we also wanted to get into edibles,” said Shawn King, who co-owns Carolinabis with his wife, Karen King. The store sells a variety of carbonated and uncarbonated waters, plus baked goods, gummies and a few other items. (The Hempshop, also in Clemmons Town Center, sells gummies and a few beverages, but no baked goods.

) The Kings formerly ran a microgreens business in Boonville from 2015 to 2017. When federal legislation in 2018 allowed people to grow hemp, the Kings made the switch. They grow all of the hemp plants used in their products.

Before getting into the flavored waters last fall, Carolinabis produced flowered buds, muscle gels, oils, and gummies - but sold them online. The Carolinabis store, open Wednesday through Sunday, sells the 16-ounce bottles of THC flavored waters that it sells to bars and restaurants. It also has half-gallon and gallon containers of the waters.
